What Is a Bullet Journal?

In it’s most basic form, a bullet journal is intended to be a productivity tool. It was developed by Ryder Carrol as an “evolving, adaptable practice meant to be self curated as you determine what works best for you.” There are lots of different ways to bullet journal, as a quick search around the internet will no doubt tell you. I, myself, have adapted the original bullet journal system to into a modified system that works best for me, but what works best for me may not be what works best for you.

With that being said, all you really need to start a bullet journal is a notebook and a pen. This video is the best place any bullet journal newbie could start.

At the end of the day, a bullet journal is designed to increase your productivity. If you feel like you’re struggling with a digital planning system, like I was, and you retain information better by writing it down with pen and paper, like I do, then the bullet journal system (or any modification thereof!) may work for you!

Take a look around, peep at how I’ve modified the system to suit my needs, and let me know below if you’ve got any questions!
